Scalextric for Hornby
The Campaign
To direct viewers to the bespoke Scalextric microsite, we created a 20" webdrive spot that encouraged kids to go online to build their ultimate track, to see if they had what it takes to become a Scalextric superstar.
With over 5,000 entries for burst 1, the competition proved extremely popular! The prize was the opportunity to appear in a 60" winners spot that aired on Cartoon Network, plus tons of product!
The winner, Alex, was shown building his winning track and racing against one of his friends.
Once online, the track builder gave kids the chance to build their ultimate track. Kids were able to choose between a variety of tracks, designs and accessories. They also had the chance to print their completed design.
As well as the track design competition, the site offered tons of information on other products within the Scalextric range, and the exit link directed kids to the official Scalextric site.
Traffic drivers were used on both sites (Cartoon Network and Boomerang) to direct users to the Scalextric microsite that was hosted at CartoonNetwork.co.uk.
