Turner Media Innovations secures PSP as Ben 10: Alien Force sponsor
2 November 2009
Turner Media Innovations has secured Sony's PlayStation®Portable (PSPTM) games console as TV sponsor of
Ben 10: Alien Force over the key Christmas gifting period, kicking off on 2 November until 24 December.
The deal was brokered by Turner Media Innovations and Manning Gottlieb OMD agency, and unites one of Sony's biggest brands with one of Turner Broadcasting's biggest brands. The exemplary brand synergy was proven earlier in the year when the Ben 10: Alien Force video game hit the number one sales position on both PSP and
PlayStation 2, holding its spot on the latter for a total of 15 weeks.
The campaign will publicise four new games for the PSP console - Invizimals, Jak and Daxter, MotorStorm and LittleBigPlanet - as well as promote the console itself. The deal also includes sponsorship of the anticipated film premiere of Ben 10: Alien Swarm on Cartoon Network at 10am and 4.30pm on 28th November.
Simon Cox, Vice President of Turner Media Innovations says: "We know that under 11's accounted for a third of all video game purchases in 2008, and the great success that our brands are having on games platforms supports this. Attracting a big name brand like PlayStation PSP shows Ben 10's continued pulling power, which contributes to our channels being in rude health in such a poorly year."
