Turner Media Innovations’ GSK Aquafresh campaign scoops double win at Media Week Awards

Turner Media Innovations scooped the Best Sales Pitch (Medium) award for its GSK Aquafresh campaign at last night's Media Week Awards. The same Aquafresh campaign also won MediaCom an award for Best Media Idea (Medium).

The two-year branded entertainment deal for GlaxoSmithKline, currently airs on Turner Broadcasting's pre-school channel Cartoonito. The campaign consists of a 90-second spot played exclusively on Cartoonito every evening just before the channel closes at 19.00.

Simon Cox, Vice President, Turner Media Innovations commented: "We're delighted to have won a Media Week award for GSK Aquafresh, which is a fantastic accolade for all who helped bring this unique campaign to fruition. It shows what Turner Media Innovations can achieve when we are given a cracking brief from the client."

Turner Media Innovations created the winning campaign for Aquafresh's range of toothpaste for children using the 'Nurdles' concept. A nurdle is the quirky name for a squirt of toothpaste.

The campaign centres around the 'Nurdle Schmurdle' song, which revives the well-known Aquafresh theme tune, and brings to life the Aquafresh red, blue and white 'Nurdle' stripes as 3D animated characters.

Turner Media Innovations' in-house creative team additionally produced 9 30-second spots featuring real life Aquafresh kids performing the accompanying 'Nurdle Schmurdle' dance.
